Sydney- bright lights, big pity (Melbourne)
If you have to make everything bigger, brighter and brasher, then you've got something to hide in my book. Sydney is all surface and no substance- Melbourne gets it right the first time and sticks to it. We got soul baby!


Style trumps 'fashion'
Why do Melbournians chock up their wardrobes with classic black? because it never looks tacky... unlike the myriad of multicoloured fake-snake pants that I encountered in Sydney when they were 'cool' for a millisecond. Echhh...

Nightlife
Melbourne has its grand old ladies for a martini or 3- Supper Club, Gin Palace... the new(er) kids in laneways- The Croft Institute, St Jeromes, that bar that's popped out out the back of Cookie in the carpark.. and Sydney has.. The Establishment. Ew

Respect
My first Anzac Day in Sydney... I go into the nearest pub and... they're playing techno at 1pm in the afternoon. The Diggers are turning in their graves I'm sure.

We like it here
I lived in Sydney for a LONG 2 and a half years... and never met another person who was actually FROM Sydney. That's right, even the natives leave... and the rest of us just go there to climb the corporate ladder and then get the hell back to Melbs
